Content Item Editor - Publishing Information

This page is only available to users with roles that allow publishing, so Contributors and Submitters�who cannot publish�will not see this page. For more information about roles, see Roles and Permissions.

The Publishing Information page displays the following data about the current content item:

Description

Data Entry Template

The template that defines which properties of the content item are displayed on the Properties page of Content Item Editor.

Presentation Template

The template that will be used to format the content item for publication.

Associated Portlet (Direct)

Displays the name of the portlet for which the content item is the portlet item (portlet main page).

Associated Portlets (Inherited) If any parent folders are associated with a portlet, the names of the portlets appear here.

Publishable

Indicates whether or not the content item can be published as a stand-alone page.

Publishing Name The name that will be used for the content item when it is published. Type the desired name in the text box.

Language

You can choose a language from the drop-down list, and Publisher will use this locale when indexing the content item for search.

Note: Publishing Name and Language can be modified from this page. The other items on this page must be configured through Publisher Explorer.

Action Bar

You can publish the content item by using the action bar.

Directory

Publish the content item in the portal Knowledge Directory.

Schedule

View the last-scheduled publication and schedule a new publication and expiration date and time for the content item.

Set to Expire

Start the expiration process. Publisher will remove the published content files, including any file contained in the image or file properties of the content item, from the publishing target. Expired content will be removed from the search index.

Undo Expiration

Available when a content item has been expired. Undo the expiration and republish the content item.

Publishing Content Items Not Under Workflow

To allow users to publish a content item even though it has no attached workflow, select the Allow this content item to be published when not in workflow check box at the bottom of the page. If you want to set the entire contents of a folder to be publishable even though it has no workflow attached, select the Allow content items not in workflow to be published check box in the Workflow dialog box.
