Content Item Editor - Versions

Use this page to view a history of the current content item, including the check-in date, the name of the user who saved the version, and the version comments the user entered. If you are creating a new content item and have not yet checked it in, no version information appears.

Content Versions

All archived versions of the current content item are displayed under Content Versions. The current version appears at the top of the list and is marked "Active Version."

Compare

Review the differences between versions.
Select the check boxes of the versions you want to compare, then click Compare. The Version Comparison page displays the content item properties and highlights any modifications.

Restore

Revert the content item stored in Publisher to a previous version. Select the appropriate version, then click Restore.  
Note:
You must have the content item checked out to restore a previous version.

Event Preview

Display the events for a selected version of the content item.

Click   to the far right of the desired version. The events are displayed in Version Events, which is described later in this topic.

Preview

To preview the current version of the content item, click Preview (at the top of the page). To preview a previous version of the content item, you must first restore it as the active version.  The Preview button applies only to the active version of the content item.

Archived versions cannot be edited or published. To publish a previous version of a content item, you must first restore it. The Publish button at the top of the Content Item Editor Versions page only applies to the active version of the content item.

Version Events

The Version Events section displays the date of any workflow activity changes or prior publication for the selected version of the content item. It also lists the associated user.
