Rejecting a work item causes it to be sent back to the previous workflow activity. The work item is re-assigned to the user that completed the previous activity.

Subject |
The first line can include the subject of the assignment. The second line is the name of the content item. If the assignment was not named, you will see only the content item name. If you have selected multiple workflow items to reject, each one will appear as a row in this table. |

You can reject work items through the Content Item Editor or the Publisher Work List portlet.
