Create Portlet
Users can only create published content portlets in folders for which
they have Producer rights or higher. Use this page to create a new published
content portlet and edit the objects included in the portlet.
To create a published content portlet in Publisher:
- Type the portlet folder name.
- Choose the parent folder in which Publisher will
create the portlet folder:
- To choose an existing folder, click Browse, choose the folder from
the Select Folder dialog box, and click OK.
- To create a new parent folder, click New, choose the folder in which
Publisher will create the new parent folder, and click OK. In the New Folder dialog
box, type the name of the new folder and click OK again.
- To expand a folder, view its subfolders, and
choose a subfolder, click the folder icon or the folder.
- Click Finish to return to the Portlet
Editor.
Note: A folder with the name you entered in step 1 is created
in Publisher; the associated data entry templates, presentation templates,
and content items are put in the folder; and the folder is published to
the Web server. When you click Finish again in the Portlet
Editor you are prompted to save the portlet, and only at this time is
the portlet published to the portal.
Editable objects are logical categories of Publisher objects, like content
items, data entry templates, and presentation templates, that you can
edit to change the appearance and functionality of the portlet. The editable
object category names for each published content portlet are listed under
Edit Objects in the left column of the Configure Portlet Wizard.
Click Next>> or <<Previous
to scroll through each editable object category and edit the editable
objects. You can also click an editable
object category name to edit the editable objects.
