Main Settings

Use this page to configure the basic portlet template properties. The following properties are available:

• Folder: The folder where the portlet template is stored. This folder is copied when a portlet is created from the portlet template.
• Portlet Item: The portlet item associated with this template. You must select an item that is not associated with another portlet.
• Default Save To Location for Portlets: The folder where portlets created using this template are stored.

The Folder and Portlet Item properties are required. You must set them before you set other portlet template properties. The Default Save To Location is optional.

Setting the Template Folder

To select the template folder where the portlet template is stored:

1. Click Browse to the right of Folder.
2. Navigate to the folder where you want the portlet template to be stored.
3. Select it and click OK.

Setting the Portlet Item

To select the portlet item associated with this template:

1. Ensure the template folder is set.
2. Click Browse to the right of Portlet Item.
3. Navigate to the portlet item.
4. Select it and click OK.

To display the page associated with this help topic:

1. Log in as a portal administrator.
2. Click Administration.
3. Open the Portlet Template Editor.
• To create a new portlet template:
1. Open an administrative folder.
2. In the Create Object menu, click Portlet Template.
3. In the Choose Template or Web Service dialog box select Published Content Web service.
4. Click OK.
• To edit an existing portlet template:
1. Navigate to the portlet template you want to edit.
2. Click the portlet template name.
4. Click Edit to the right of Configure this Portlet.
