Use this page to browse and edit folders, subfolders, and documents.

Control

Description

Create Folder allows you to create a new subfolder in the folder you are browsing.

Move allows you to move a folder or document to a different folder or subfolder. Select one or more folders or documents and click . In the Choose Target Folder dialog box, expand the folders as necessary, choose a folder, and click OK to move the content.

Copy allows you to copy a folder or document to a different location. Select a folder or subfolder and click . In the Choose Target Folder dialog box, expand the folders as necessary, choose a folder, and click OK to copy the content.

Security allows you to modify the security settings on a folder. Select the folder. Click here to learn more.

Delete allows you to delete a folder or document. Select one or more folders or documents and click to display the confirmation dialog box.

 

Request Migration marks a folder or document for migration to another portal. Select one or more folders or documents and click to display the Script Prompt dialog box. Type a comment and click OK.

Edit Folder allows you to modify the main settings, related resources, advanced settings, properties and names, security, migration history, and status of the current folder (the open folder). Click here to learn more.

Browse

Browse allows you to switch to Browse mode to browse the current folder. To quickly move up to the root folder, click the Directory folder link at the top of the page.

Edit (to the far-right of each folder) allows you to modify the main settings, related resources, advanced settings, properties and names, security, migration history, and status of the folder or document. After you open a folder, you see the following additional controls.

Up

Go Up 1 Level allows you to navigate to the current folder’s parent. To quickly move up to the root folder, click the Directory link at the top of the page.

Submit Document

Submit Document enables you to submit documents to the portal. You can submit simple, remote, or Web documents. To learn more about submitting simple documents, click here. To learn more about submitting remote and Web documents, click here.

After you open a folder that contains documents, you see the following additional controls.

Approve

Approve allows you to approve documents, so that they display in the Directory. This option applies only to documents—it is available only when you browse a folder that contains documents.

Unapprove

Unapprove allows you to unapprove documents, so they do not display in the Directory. This option applies only to documents—it is available only when you browse a folder that contains documents.

Document Settings

Document Settings allows you to view and modify document settings. Click here to learn more.

Edit (to the far-right of each document) allows you to edit document properties, settings, and security. Below the name of the document, click Properties to display the Properties page describing the document.

Unclassified Documents Folder

The Unclassified Documents folder stores documents that were crawled in, but did not sort into any of the folders selected in the content crawler. If a document cannot be placed in any target folders or subfolders, the content crawler might place the document in the Unclassified Documents folder. This is determined by a setting on the Advanced Settings page of the Content Crawler Editor. If you have the correct permissions, you can view the Unclassified Documents folder when you are editing the Directory or by clicking Administration | Select Utility | Access Unclassified Documents.
